Synopsis

THE TRAFFICKERS tells the story of young Israelis who were caught transporting illegal drugs in various airports around the world.

Although they are different people with different life experiences, as are the circumstances that led each of them to do what they did, there is nonetheless a link in their stories: they are very much "Israeli," and typical of today's 20-something generation. It is a generation that has lost all confidence in the place where they were born and raised, and who's concept of good and bad is getting more and more blurry with time.

Through their stories we see the divergent methods Israelis use to smuggle drugs across the world; How the global trafficking "food chain" consisting of recruiters, dealers and consumers, not to mention cops, lawyers, devastated family members and even curious anthropologists works; And whether it is indeed a growing phenomenon...
